Tea and Sympathy

27 February 2009

You know how some weeks you can fly through everyting you have to do and it all seems to flow and you feel energetic and perky and brilliant and successful?

This has not been one of those weeks.I have a ton of deadlines looming because it is the end of the month and my brain has been on autopilot for two weeks.  I can’t concentrate at all.  It seems breathing is a major chore for me right now.

When Did You Start Drinking Coffee?

23 February 2009

I was thinking about this today.  I think everyone has a cool “How I started drinking coffee” story but me.  Marc started drinking coffee as a kid when he hung out at the firehouse, playing pool.  I think that was also where he learned to smoke.  Although he has quit smoking, his coffee drinking habits are legendary amongst family members. Truvia Sweetener Review

18 February 2009

When Truvia contacted me about trying the new sweetener I was pretty stoked.

I have used stevia a long time. I just am not into chemicals and I don’t trust the FDA.  Well, truthfully I don;t trust the government, medical personnel, or most others that have been corrupted by"the establishment".  Yes, I am a throwbback from the 60s.

Why Good Coffee Shops Will Never Go Out of Style

18 February 2009

Wasn’t it Lana Turner who was discovered in a coffee shop?

When you hear the words “coffee shop” what do you think of?  The first thing that came to mind should NOT be a big corporate owned conglomerate.

I think of a small place, cozy, with great pie and cake.  Coffee in heavy ironstone mugs (or whatever they call it), and someone who knows that I like a dollop of unsweetned whipped cream on the top of my coffee to stir in with just a pinch of Stevia.

Coffee Biodiesel for a Smooth Ride

16 February 2009

Researchers have found that it is possible to use coffee grounds as the basis for biodiesel for cars and other gas guzzling vehicles.

Romantic Valentines Day Coffee Drinks

11 February 2009

While others may find it romantic to sip wine in the evening I much prefer a cup of coffee.  I like a great wine once in awhile, don’t get me wrong, but there is something awfully romantic about coffee as far as I am concerned.

With Valentine’s Day coming up on Saturday I wanted to see what was new, different and very coffee-cool.  I found some coffee drinks that sound fantastic!

Bigelow Tea Sweetheart Cinnamon

10 February 2009

Bigelow Teas Sweetheart Cinnamon a perfect addition to a Valentine’s Day tea party.  First off all, the name is pretty Valentine’s-y wouldn’t you say? Secondly, it comes in a pretty pink packet, and third, it is sweet cinnamon flavor.

To me, all of those things together make it a fantastic way to start the morning with Rose and Cinnamon Scones.

Have a Little Cheese with That…Coffee?

9 February 2009

I just read an article this evening about a small Utah Creamery that is creating a cheddar cheese with a coffee rind.
