I suppose the only thing tea related about this post is the  maple tea in the delicate, vintage rose pedestal cup that I am drinking.  I have browsed blogs this evening trying to lift my spirits and managed only to make myself more homesick.

Starbucks Increasing It's Fair Trade Buying

While the Fair Trade system is not perfect by a long shot it is better than nothing.  Fair Trade helps farmers to get a decent wage for the work that they do and it encourages them to plant in an environmentally responsible manner.  Most of us will attempt to buy Fair Trade items over other items unless the price difference is overwhelming  or the quality is very different. Coffee-opoly…Finally!

I will admit that I have been wondering when this would happen.  I know that a Dutch company made a coffee based game in the 1980s but I was waiting for an American, full fledged based on Monopoly game.  After all there are Star Wars Monopoly, Simpson’s Monopoly, Marine Corps Monopoly…

It's Not Easy Being Green

Scientists have found that an extract of green tea rubbed onto the skin may protect against UV damage.

UV rays are those harmful rays that cause sunburn and skin cancer.  Apparently the polyphenols protect the skin when rubbed on it in a low dose.  (more…)

They can’t keep something that good to themselves.  Give this a try and let me know if you think it is close.  I made it a little more chocolate-y by adding the bittersweet chocolate, you could go with dark or a mixture. (more…)

A nutritionist from Leeds University has come up with   a list of 20 things that lead to a long life.  He says that by eating/drinking these things the body receives more polyphenols, substances which help the body fight disease of all sorts. (more…)
