SO, Chris got home yesterday afternoon and we are having a great time catching up.  He has been attended to with great devotion by Kyrie (youngest daughter)and  Amanda(granddaughter), who seem to be vying for his attention. At the end of the month he will be headed overseas for three years.

June 2 is my husband’s 49TH birthday. Yep. I am married to an old guy. An old HOT guy. And as you can see, he likes gifts.

Anyway. We have been married for 28 years and it has been awesome. Not that we didn’t have ups and downs like anyone else but the commitment that he has shown to me, and the kids, has been over and above what anyone can imagine. (more…)

It is getting hot here. Once in awhile it is nice to drink something cold and yummy…

I think this caramel frappuccino is better than the original. Let me know what you think.
The caramel is homemade.  Watch the heavy cream as I have noticed it is harder and harder to find real cream rather than cream with skim milk and lots of additives. Always read labels, even on organics! (more…)

Marc and I have been married 28 years..some years awesome..some years unique..but all of them great.  Still, there are things I don’t know, things I haven’t thought about  and things that I may need to change my mind about. Part of a successful marriage is continuing to educate yourself about your marriage and your mate.  Marriage Actually helps you do that.

Last week I had an interesting observation.  The bigger a company gets the less likely they are to be interested in sending samples to small coffee blogs.  I contacted Green Mountain for some sample of their new stuff and got a politely terse “buy it, Loser” letter back.  I do like their coffee but the ‘tude stinks as far as I am concerned.

Imagine my delight then, when less than 12 hours later I contacted Ugly Mug with the same request and they were not only nice but generous.

Now, when I ask for a sample of coffee to review, I am o.k. with getting just an oz or so, enough to make a short pot. I just want to see the beans and taste the coffee so I can tell you guys what is available. I am not asking for free coffee for a year or anything.

I finally found some Dunkin Donuts whole bean coffee and decided to try it. I had heard both good and bad things about it and you know, it is important to make up your own mind.

So…I found it at Target last night during the bi-weekly emptying of my checking account..

Just an aside…food is outrageous! We feed 12 people here. 4 adults, 2 teen boys, 1 almost teen girl, and 5 under the age of 10. My grocery budget has (more…)
